SOC2019 was attended by 245 delegates, 74% from Scotland & Northern Ireland, 22% from England & Wales, and 4% from Europe. Across the 3 Tracks - 77% were optometrists / independant prescribers, 16% dispensing opticians, and 7% contact lens opticians.
As in previous years vast majority 75% of delegates were from Independant Sector, in addition to a good representation from academic and hospital practice.
Innovative programming allows for an amazing 6 hours of dedicated exhibition time from morning registration, through mid-morning / afternoon refreshment breaks but most significantly split track lunch breaks of 2½ hrs avoiding the classic long lunch queues thus allowing delegates time to visit the exhibition, to browse and then returning to buy or arrange practice based appointments with exhibitors.
A registration fee of £49 will be charged to cover the cost of all refreshments and buffet lunch.

Joint Course Organisers, Dr Scott Mackie (previously Eyecare 3000) & Mrs Caroline Christie (previously Optometric Educators) have a pedigree for running successful events and are well known in the industry. They have and will continue to work in conjunction with other stakeholders: National Education for Scotland (NES), Optometry Scotland (OS), Association of British Dispensing Opticians (ABDO), British Contact Lens Association (BCLA) and GCU (Glasgow Caledonian University). Using their combined collection of contacts SOC aims to be an overwhelming winner for practitioners and industry alike and to become an annual fixture in the CET calendar.
