Topcon Educational Symposium Success

Over 50 delegates from as far as Taunton and Tenby descended on the School of Optometry and Vision Sciences in Cardiff last Wednesday (29th October) for the first of 13 Topcon University events.

The four stream educational programme, offering 13 CET points (up to 7 per delegate) included CET lectures on Age Related Macular Degeneration presented by Ayad Al-Bermani, Consultant Medical Ophthalmologist and Glaucoma presented by Dr Catharine Chisholm, peer discussion and workshops. Not to mention a track tailored to Front of House staff with optometrist and staff development consultant Sarah Morgan and an aspirational business lecture looking to the future of optometry with Nick Rumney.

Discussing their experiences, sharing best practice and gaining top tips on everyday imaging and OCT scanning with a particular focus on trend analysis, there was no end in the diversity of education that the delegates could get their hands on.

‘What a buzzing evening with a great turnout! We hope the delegates have taken home plenty of clinical tips and ideas to apply in practice. With half of our Symposia already fully booked, we are looking forward to travelling the UK and Ireland over the next 4 months and bringing education to practitioners’ doorsteps.’ Commented Dr Catharine Chisholm, UK and Ireland Clinical Affairs Manager.
