Topcon to exhibit at 100%
Topcon (Great Britain) Medical Limited announced last month that they are to exhibit for the first time at 100% Optical in January 2019.
Topcon is one of only a few instrument manufacturers that invents, designs, produces and supplies all of its products direct to the end user - across ophthalmic clinics, operating theatres, laser treatment rooms and optometric practices.
“Topcon is delighted to be exhibiting at 100% Optical for the first time in 2019. 100% Optical has become a popular event for fashion conscious optometrists from all over UK and Ireland. With a comprehensive education program, of which Topcon will be an integral part, the chance to meet customers new and old is very exciting and we look forward to meeting them all at 100%” commented Graham Trevor, Director of Sales at Topcon (Great Britain) Medical Limited.
By visiting Topcon’s stand M260, 100% Optical delegates will be introduced to new clinical software products designed to help practitioners integrate all of their clinical data and images into one application. Along with their market leading OCT’s, the 3D OCT-1 Maestro and the Swept Source DRI OCT Triton, there will be a display of a fantastic range of refractive and diagnostic instruments including topographers, refractors, tonometers, visual field analysers, lens meters, dry eye treatment systems and slit lamps, to name just a few.
With automation and computerisation as the future, new methods of refraction are on the horizon, as is AI (artificial intelligence), which will speed up the diagnostic and referral process in practice. Topcon is harnessing cutting edge technology and working closely with global IT specialist companies to maximise these advances and research.
The industry needs to adopt the technological changes in order to address the challenges posed by the aging population. The clinical demands on practice will increase in the coming years and optometry needs to be ready to play its part, by taking on as much primary diagnosis and patient care as possible.
Perhaps it is no wonder that this forward thinking industry leader emphasizes heavily on providing both technical and clinical support at a local level. “Supporting our customers is our key priority, be it from continuing education and clinical guidance perspective to technical issues. We understand how important it is to keep up with technological advancements and how frustrating it can be to have an amazing piece of equipment in your clinic and be daunted by its capabilities” accentuates Mr Trevor.
Along with plenty of on-stand activity, Topcon University will be sponsoring two CET sessions at 100% Optical:
